Hi All,
I have managed to invite Tony Kelly, one of our expert members at Dogmunity to put up an ebook to help house train our dogs!
She has just shown me the book and I’m hugely impressed! I’m sure everyone will learn something new!
While she’s putting on the finishing touch, can I have some of your burning questions on house training your puppy?
I have started a new tread in the forum under the topic “Burning Questions”
Hopefully with these questions, Toni will be able to structure and put up an even better guide book for all of us!
Cheers,
Mose
Here’s a short Bio of Toni to help everyone learn a little more about her:

3. Share your dog stories - set up a profile page to introduce and showcase your beloved dog.
4. Full social site features to allow you interact with other dog owners from around the world.
5 and a lot more to be listed here…
Join us now for free at: http://www.dogmunity.com/

p.s. The intention of this mail was to inform my members of the latest added feature - Live video conversation along with simultaneous formatted and smilies-powered text chat.
p.s.s. Do forgive my ranting, because I have put in some significant amount of time and effort to build this site.

Hi all,
G’Day!
Just want to let everyone know that I have added more features in Dogmunity:
1. Earn Some Points - This feature allows you to earn points for taking part and doing stuff within dogmunity - For example add a profile picture, upload a picture, videos, post questions and answers on forum and even refer friends to join us!
With these points, you will be able to visit the Dogmunity gift shop to buy gifts for other members! (Gift shop coming soon…)

Help spread the words, use the friends inviter to send invites out to your friends!
Lastly, it has been more than 2 months since we launched Dogmunity, If you want to leave a testimonial for us, please do by writing to me or using this link:

It has been some time since i can find time to update this blog… In fact, my last post was on 31st May, more than 1 month ago.
There are so many things I’d like to do to improve the site, unfortunately, my day job is keeping me so busy, I have so little time for Dogmunity.
I guess everyone is guilty of slacking, including myself.
From today onwards, I shall contribute at least 1-2 hours of my time to develop and market Dogmunity, so it can help more people enjoy dog ownership!
Last week, I manage to find a graphic designer to design the promo banners, and I think it’s not too bad! Hope it can help deliver the message across to potential members.
Cheers,
Moses

Hi all,
After 3 weeks of intense work on the site, Dogmunity is finally ready for beta testing launch within this week.
I’m in the mist of putting contents, videos and downloadable reports onto the site now. Once that is done, we can start to sign up beta testers!

Dear all,
Just a quick update on Dogmunity progress.
To say that things are progressing slowly is an understatement.
The truth is there is little or no progress at all from last week.
There are many thing that I’d like to see before I launch for beta testing but most of them are not in place yet.
I know it takes time to built a quality site but this is taking far too long.
Maybe I should learn programming, but then again, it will take years for me to master it!
Please give me some more time.
I’ll update you guys as soon as the site is done up.
Apologetic,
Moses

As per the last post, I send everyone’s feedback including mine to the logo designer and she came back with this:

While I can say these logo are up to expectation, my heart tells me that something is missing?
Anyway, I’ll try to figure out. Let me know what you think. (Leave a comment)

Hi all,
Just receive my newly designed logo samples (First draft) from my graphic designer!

Click on the image to enlarge
Just thought that you people out there can give me some feedbacks and comments. Personally, I like the font type for the top left hand one and the background for the bottom right one. Any suggestions, like mix and match, or which artwork or text do you like better?
Drop me your thoughts… I don’t need any professional advice, just your thoughts from a dog lover prospective…
Last but not least, the current tag line is “a dog lovers community”. I have a couple in my head. Maybe you can help choose one?
1. a dog lovers community
2. we love dogs
3. barking up the right tree
4. dog ownership made easy
5. from paws to pals
ok. don’t laugh.
I’m not a copy writer, but still. Let me know what you think.
Look forward to see your comments and thoughts.
Cheers,
Moses

Just a quick update.
As at now, my programmer is still working on the site, hopefully, he can finish it by tomorrow.
I sincerely apologize again.
Just to let you know, this is really not easy task.
All the coordination and amount of work put in.
The programmer who script the site to our requirement (guess what? I have not seen so much “bugs” in my life!), the web site designer who puts in the color scheme (IE version 5 not working, tables not centered, colors not matching and the list can go on…)
Not forgeting the communicating and liaising with dog trainers, veterinarian and behaviorist.
While I’m the manager who puts everything together, trust me. “It’s Not Easy!”
Will update you guys out there once it’s ready for beta testing… Think it might take longer than my initial estimation of 4 days.
Till later,
Moses
p.s. sorry about the ranting… just need to get it off my chest.

Hi all,
Firstly, i would like to apologize to all who look forward to signing up as beta tester today.
There will be a minimum delay of 4 days due to some technical problems that I have created. OMG!
As you guys might already know, I’m not a programmer and has not much technical knowledge whatsoever.
I was trying to make some changes to the site, (hopefully to improve the functionality) and turn out deleting some important files that make the site runs smoothly. GOSH!!
I’m getting one of my programmer to do something about it now.
So sorry. I’ll update you guys as soon as the problem is fixed.
Apologetic,
Moses

Good Day!
A quick update before we open Dogmunity for beta testers to sign up tomorrow.
I would like to be as fair as possible.
This would be the sequence of notification emails.
Firstly, I’ll notify those who post a comment first, (don’t worry, i have your email addresses), follow by those who join the notification list on dogmunity, and lastly the Dogsmanship readers.
All in all, we are looking at about 1700 dog owners on the list all around the world, mostly in US still.
Currently I need about 15-25 dog owners only.
I think we should be able to get enough beta testers by Sunday if nothing goes wrong.
Again, the benefits for Beta testers is that they will get free life membership to Dogmunity.
To post a comment:
http://www.dogmunity.com/blog/?p=10
To join the notification list:
http://www.dogmunity.com/blog/?page_id=9
To get a copy of Dogsmanship - The Dog Lovers’ Survival Guide:
http://www.dogsobediencetraining.com/survival_guide/index.htm
Looking forward to the Beta testing launch. It should be fun!
Cheers,
Moses

If you have been reading my mails or following the blog for the past couple of weeks, you should know that I’m currently working diligently on this new community site for dog owners - Dogmunity.com
Before I launch Dogmunity to the public, I would like to invite dog owners to beta test the site and give me their most honest opinion, suggestions and feedbacks.
I’m still in the process of updating the site; therefore the doors will be open for registration only on this coming Friday, May 9th.
Ideally, I’m looking for 15 - 25 serious beta testers only – They should be dog owners who will take the time to go through the site and put the information into use at the end of the day.
If you are interested, please join our newsletter and notification list here:
=> http://www.dogmunity.com/blog/?page_id=9
I’ll notify you as soon as the joining up page is up and ready. (Even if you are not interested to be a beta tester, you can show your support by joining the list. **I’m arranging for some valuable freebies to give away too.)
Currently, I’m looking to launch the membership site at no less than $7.90 / month.
Benefits for beta testers is that they will get a lifetime membership to Dogmunity.com for free.
Here’s the page to sign up for the newsletter and notification list again:
=> http://www.dogmunity.com/blog/?page_id=9
Regards,
Moses
p.s. As always, leave your comments and feedbacks if any.
p.p.s If you can share with us on this post (leaving a comment) on why you deserved to be part of the beta testing group. I might just give you priority into the beta testing group!

A subscriber sends me a question over the weekend and I feel I should address it today.
She asked:
“What can I get out of Dogmunity when you can get so much free dog training material and resources online?”
Firstly, I believe that every dog owner should train their dogs if they truly love and care for them. Given proper training, your dog not only leads a happier and healthier life, it also gives birth to a trouble-free life long companion.
Coming back to the question:
“you can get so much free dog training material and resources online”
Guess what. Yeah, you’re not wrong! That statement is right, but only to a certain extent. Allow me to explain further.
1. I agree that there is valuable free information online. But do you have the time to scan through hundreds of thousands of web site out there to find one valuable or useful dog training tip?
2. Most resources on the internet are free, but are these resources reliable or trustworthy?
Ask yourself - Are you learning from experts who knows everything about dog training or from novice dog owners who publish their dog training experience online? Or worse still, you might not have any idea who you are learning from.
3. No doubt there are “good” dog trainers who offer valuable and good dog training materials online. But are they revealing everything they know?
If they are “real” dog trainers who offer their dog training services. Are they willing to reveal everything they know for free online and put their business at risk?
Certainly not for me or any sane person! Can you imagine KFC or Cheesecake Factory putting their recipes online?
I have no doubts whatsoever that you can find quality dog training sites online, but you do need a considerable amount of time to find and test them over time.
Take cooking for example, how would you know if an online recipe is good?
You try cooking that dish with the online recipe. What if moments later, the dish turns out to be rubbish!
Do you blame it on the online recipe or your cooking technique?
The same theory applies to free dog training resources. You need to be sure that you are learning from the right person or resources and stick with it to see results.
“What can you get out of Dogmunity?”
Simple. What I’m trying to achieve here is to help people enjoy dog ownership. I believe that dog ownership should be a fun and fruitful experience. Not something that annoys the hell out of you everyday.
We need information that are examine, scrutinize and verified by professionals, not from Tom, Dick or Harry who thinks they know what they are doing. Period.
As always, please share your most honest comments on this blog. Kindly do forgive me if I sound rude.
Thanks and Regards,
Moses

Hi and G’Day!
Things are moving so fast, I’m trying to catch my breath and make sure everything goes as per plan.
As you can see, the site is already up! You can find the home index page at:
=> http://www.dogmunity.com - Hope you like the domain name I choose!
I have also created a blog whereby visitors can share their comments with everyone else:
=> http://www.dogmunity.com/blog/
( Please read earlier posts and submit your comments if possible - I want to share them with everyone.)
As per my vision in the earlier post:
The primary features for the site are already in place.
- ability to set up a profile page for your dog
- sharing photos and videos
- Forum and possibly live chat with fellow dog lovers.
Membership content wise, I’m fortunate to have 2 highly regard professionals to lend a helping hand.
One of them is Dr. Dipankar, a practicing veterinarian with vast experience. Dr. Dipankar has already edited an ebook titled “20 natural and healthy dog food recipes”.
He has even gone the extra mile to write us a short report on understanding essential dog nutrition and preparing special diets for dogs recovering from illnesses.
I’ll update you shortly on other resources that we are likely to add into the membership site down the road.
Till then.
Cheers,
Moses
p.s. As always, please let me know how you think. (Please post your comment on the blog itself so that everyone else can see.)
*I’ll check the blog often for any new comments and reply to them whenever time allows.
**You must click on the title link before you can add any comments.

Hi fellow dog lovers,
Good Morning!
If you are one of those who have replied and send words of encouragement.
Thank you. I really appreciate that! :>
By the way, I receive about 20 replies in all - not a lot.
But to me, it’s a good start.
I’m encouraged by the response and decide to go ahead and start a new community site for fellow dog owners!
I already have a vision of what this site is going to be:
1. Primary goal is to help dog owners around the world enjoy dog ownership.
In order to achieve this, site aims to give relevant and useful resources on:
a. dog health - diet, illnesses, symptoms, medication
b. dog training - obedience, potty, crate training, stop behavioral problems
c. promoting responsible dog ownership
2. To add interactive within the site, there should be features including:
a. start a profile for your dog
b. share photos, videos and stories about your dog
c. video or tele-chat with dog members around the world
3. Site should focus on giving quality information:
a. All information should be double check by a professional in that field before we publish them online
b. All information should be up-to-date and accurate
4. Members have to pay a nominal fee to join this community site:
a. no advertising from any third party
b. no selling of products (without permission)
To further update you on what i have done for the past week:
1. Found a script and programmer to design the site.
2. Found one vet and a certify dog trainer to provide professional resources and advice in the forum.
3. Spend about $800 on buying dog food recipes, training and health related information that I can share with the community.
Look forward to update you when the site is ready!
Cheers,
Moses
p.s. Let me know what you are thinking… any ideas, suggestions or maybe even contributions are welcome!

Dear fellow dog owners,
I need some help and advice here.
I’m looking to build an online community site whereby fellow dog owners can share tips and information.
It should be something like a content sharing portal where every dog owners can interact and benefit from.
I also want to build it such that user can upload their dog’s photo and even videos.
As you might know, building such a site need time and effort investment on my part.
Before I go full hearted into it. I just want to check if you people out there are interested to join the community?
If yes, kindly drop me some comments so that I know my effort is worth it.
Cheers,
Moses

Last year June 2007, I released my first free ebook: Dogsmanship - The dog lover’s survival guide. It was a huge collection, 228 pages, full of tips and guide on how to train, solve dog behavioral problems and keep your dog healthy at the same time.
You can get a copy and the full story here:
=> http://www.dogsobediencetraining.com/survival_guide/index.htm
Although I receive many kind words and thanks from a fair share of dog owners, I feel that it was not good enough.
This book is a collection of what I know and learn from experience, books and online resources.
And as you might already know, I’m neither a professional dog trainer, animal behaviorist nor a veterinarian.
While I have put in months of time and effort into researching and preparing the book, there are still chances that the information might not be accurate!
I know I have to do something.
The result is the birth and creation of Dogmunity.com – A community website whereby I can provide the best and true information on dog related information.
I will share with you how I can do that in the next post.
Thanks and Regards,
Moses
