Dog Owners Needed to Beta Test Dogmunity!

May 6th, 2008 · 33 Comments ·

If you have been reading my mails or following the blog for the past couple of weeks, you should know that I’m currently working diligently on this new community site for dog owners - Dogmunity.com

Before I launch Dogmunity to the public, I would like to invite dog owners to beta test the site and give me their most honest opinion, suggestions and feedbacks.

I’m still in the process of updating the site; therefore the doors will be open for registration only on this coming Friday, May 9th.

Ideally, I’m looking for 15 - 25 serious beta testers only – They should be dog owners who will take the time to go through the site and put the information into use at the end of the day.

If you are interested, please join our newsletter and notification list here:
=> http://www.dogmunity.com/blog/?page_id=9

I’ll notify you as soon as the joining up page is up and ready. (Even if you are not interested to be a beta tester, you can show your support by joining the list. **I’m arranging for some valuable freebies to give away too.)

Currently, I’m looking to launch the membership site at no less than $7.90 / month.

Benefits for beta testers is that they will get a lifetime membership to Dogmunity.com for free.

Here’s the page to sign up for the newsletter and notification list again:
=> http://www.dogmunity.com/blog/?page_id=9

Regards,

Moses

p.s. As always, leave your comments and feedbacks if any.

p.p.s If you can share with us on this post (leaving a comment) on why you deserved to be part of the beta testing group. I might just give you priority into the beta testing group!

I can’t think of any reason I am more deserving of the beta-test position than any other dog lover. I would just enjoy helping you get Dogmunity working the way you want it to.

I think this is a perfect solution for all Dog lovers to join up. We can have all our questions answered without going to different websites. Reading other DL’s delima’s that could possibly be mine also. This will be quick and easy. Whats better than quick and easy?????

    Yes of course.

What we are looking at is to provide all the resources needed for happy and responsible dog ownership.

Btw, don’t forget that we seek to provide true and accurate information from professionals and not hobby-ists, per se.

We want the best for our dogs right?? :-)

I think this site will be beneficial to all dog owners and people looking to get a dog …
We need a place that everyone can get together and find answers and support for all dog related problems and get togethers.. etc.

I would love to beta test the site … I’m signed up on forums and such and would love to be able to help this become all it could be

    Thanks

I am in between jobs right now and have time to beta-test the site, and I am a BIG dog lover! I own an 8 year old Dalmation/ Black Lab mix who is so sweet that my grand-daughter named him Sugar.

I love animals, having had dogs all my life. I have worked with dogs and think the idea of having a central place to go to for info is spectacular.
I would love to do the beta test.

I hope I can help with this project. I started a rescue shelter 6 years ago and have “been through” a lot of dogs and cats! Hundreds of them. Right now I have 3 dogs (and 57 cats), so can always use good advice. One is a Rottie mix with 3 legs, one is a lab/beagle mix, and the 3rd is a Cocker spaniel mix… all came from abusive situations, but they are very forgiving and are happy, good dogs. I’m here to learn what I can, and happy to help inspect or evaluate the site, etc.

I’m nearly finished my two-year course studying complementary veterinary medicine. I have eight rescue dogs of my own. I’ve studied canine nutrition, problem behavior, training. I work as a copyeditor. I have enough difficulties with a computer, that I am sensitive to the problems others might have. I’d love to do something to help you help readers to help their dogs. Please choose me.

    Hi Moses,

I don’t have such great experience with dogs as others have because I just started owning a dog 2 months ago. I have 2 German Shepherd Ego (female) and Champ (Male) and both are 10 months. I downloaded your book and I’m reading it now and I found it so helpful and I started to use all the tricks you mentioned in your book.

I think I’ll be the first member in Beta Test from Egypt :)
I really love to use this opportunity to help all dog owners in Egypt and specially my Wife’s family who have dogs since the 1970. (This will be my source of information I can use to help other people)
    :)

    Regards,
    Ahmed

    Moses,

Unlike most of your readers I have no experience in dog ownership, although I love dogs and anything about dogs. My first dog, a female yellow lab, just born on April 29, 08, and will be joining my family on June 22. I will be able to trully test your new Dogmuity site by applying the information to a new dog, by a new and green dog owner. Whether you choose me or not I wish you success in launching your site.

moses, I have been reading all your e-mail since I downloaded the training manual. Thank you. I have put it to good use. I have a German Shephard puppy that I wanted to train from the beginning. She was 3 mos old when I downloaded the manual, she is now at a year old, and will walk on the leash next to me, will sit upon command, come when called, a few glitches there, but I have put the info to use. I let her know, I am the Alpha dog, and she is my little pack member. I would love to be a beta-tester, as I am one of your best followers of all the info you send. Thank you. Emily

I have four dogs (2) rescues (a black and chocolate lab) and (2) chosen (a red Golden and a Blond Golden). Having rescued and had dogs as part of our family for nearly 30 years - I would be happy to participate in the beta testing of your site.
For the most part - I am an engineer who writes software for the structural engineering community and relies upon beta testers to verify the accuracy of my engineering tools. My office has been in the home for 22 years and there this has kept me close to family and now (nearly 60 years old) close to my dogs.
I’m no more qualified than any other dog lover out there so I can’t claim this as a reason to be chosen, but if you need the help, you can count on me to assist you in a good cause. I could also use the help with my 2 year old Chocolate lab who was rescued about a year ago and has a barking problem when let out in the yard. So any help with Dillon is a fair trade.
    Best regards,
    Dennis
(for Cheyenne - 12 year Red Golden; Jaz - 12 year Black Lab; Maggie - 5 year Blond Golden and Dillon - 2 year Chocolate Lab. All great dogs but all have homes because of Jess - who died 5 years ago and who was a with me for nearly 12 years and was a Lab/Rott mix that taught me to love all other dogs - in memory of my best friend.

Hi…..well every time something comes up with my 2 dogs, I’m lead to all these sites, but never get any straight answers. Either they won’t email back or want money for every question! Anyways, it would be great to know i have a place to go where people just like me are looking for probably answers to the very same questions and are just there to discuss any and every thing that always seems to come up!! Looking so forward to the new “dogmunity” and already spread the word to my other dog lovin friends! Love to help in any way. Best of luck….I think it’ll be a great success!!

    Moses,
I have a 5 month old German Shepherd that I have totally obedience trained myself using
your info, other info on the internet, a few books from the local library. and talking to other
dog owners. a neighbor of mine spent $3,000 to
have their dog trained and cant do half of what
I have been able to teach mine, and I have only
begun. I am sure me and my dog will be teaching
each other for years to come. A lot of things you
try to do with your dog isnt cut and dry. Sometimes while trying to teach, my dog gives me this look that says “what you talking about
boss”? and so far I have been able to get into
his mind and explain it to him.
I would really enjoy helping people with problems they have training their dogs because
a well trained dog will always have a good home.

Hi Moses, what you’re doing is splendid and I am looking forward to everything you are still planning to do. I don’t think you need to worry about the delays, I bet it’s clear to everyone that such a task cannot be accomplished in few days or weeks! I like all the logos, but my favorite is the first left (with two dogs). It needs a slightly larger font size, though. My second favorite is the logo below my first choice (no dogs, just a paw). I like all the lines except the fourth (”dogs ownership made easy”). The website looks great, the topics are very interesting and useful, the photos are adorable, all in all I am glad I am a member of Dogmunity! All the best, Nina
